Annual Student Conference Set to be Largest Ever
CAMERA's seventh annual Student Leadership and Advocacy Training Conference will take place on August 6th-9th in Boston. With over 100 students attending what is CAMERA on Campus's largest conference to date, the need for Israel education has never been more clear. Check out the highlights from last year's conference in the video below.
Testimonial Spotlight: Eyal Abadi, UF
"CAMERA and its staff have supported This Is Israel since the beginning.
The tools and funding they provide have allowed us to become a truly admirable and successful club at the University of Florida."

CAMERA on Campus UK Hires Two New Campus Associates
We are thrilled to announce the expansion of the UK department of CAMERA on Campus! Our two new Campus Associates will be monitoring and responding to events on the ground in the UK.

Khulan Davaajav (above) is currently a student at SOAS University of London studying International Relations. Her passion for accurate reporting on Israel began with writing a blog in high school. In her freshman year, Khulan coordinated several Israel-related events, balancing the narratives told on her campus with accurate information.

Khulan's campus is known to be the most biased campus against Israel in Europe. Despite 150 academics calling for the cancellation of her SOAS Jewish Society event hosting the Israeli Ambassador to the UK Mark Regev, she organized a successful event with wide media coverage.

She played an important role in the first-ever UK Israel Peace Week, subverting the Israel Apartheid Week, and was interviewed by the BBC and YNet. She continues to support Israel and Jewish societies across UK campuses.

Khulan can be reached at khulan@camera.org.
Tamara Berens is an undergraduate student at Kings College London, studying War Studies. She is President of CAMERA-supported group KCL Israel Society for the academic year 2017/18. She writes a blog for the Times of Israel and the Jewish News.

Tamara has interned in the UK Parliament, the Henry Jackson Society, and other British think tanks. She is a passionate supporter of Israel and lover of the Negev, where she has spent time painting and building a music school.

Tamara can be reached at tberens@camera.org.
Everything That's Wrong with Haaretz in One Story
Many people around the world read Ha’aretz, the left-leaning Israeli newspaper, to remain informed about Israel. But often Ha’aretz goes well beyond what is acceptable criticism of Israel, crossing red lines in its coverage of Israel’s actions. Some of the stories in the paper contain an unholy trinity of liesexaggerations and narrative-spinning, which combine to blacken Israel’s image. A recent article by Tamar Sternthal, Director of CAMERA's Israel office, gave a perfect example of this phenomenon. CAMERA's Aron White writes in the CAMERA on Campus blog that this is not an isolated incident.
Harvard's Sara Roy: All Hamas Needs is Love

In a London Review of Books article entitled “If Israel were smart,” Harvard’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) research associate Sara Roy weaves a tale of a Gaza Strip waiting patiently through misfortune for little more than a hug from Israel.

But in her telling, Gaza is rebuffed by Israel, which for no decipherable reason continues to cruelly impose sanctions on the Hamas-run territory. (Roy has previously dubbed this “oppression imposed by Jews.”)
